Lady Demons open home stand with UCA Sunday

NATCHITOCHES – After two straight overtime games, the Northwestern State women's soccer team will host Central Arkansas Sunday at 1 o'clock to open a five-game homestand.
 
NSU (3-6-1, 1-1-1 Southland Conference) took a 2-1 win in extra time Friday night at Houston Baptist. It was the second time in one week that the Lady Demons went into overtime after double-overtime scoreless draw against Lamar on Tuesday.
 
UCA (4-3-2, 1-0-0) comes in after a 2-1 win over first-year program Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday night. 
 
Adriana Lucar and Brooke Ballard, who each have 12 on the season, lead the Sugar Bears in points.  Each has five goals and two assists.
 
Shelby Wilson follows them with eight points on three goals and two assists.
 
Brooke Eastburg and Johanna Sigvardsson leads Northwestern State with four points apiece.  Eastburg has two goals and Sigvardsson has one goal and two assists.
 
Six other Lady Demons have two points on the season.
 
NSU will return to action on Friday when they face Sam Houston at 7 o'clock and then will a week off before facing Abilene Christian on Oct. 11 at 7:30.
