Lady Demons return home for final non-conference match

NATCHITOCHES -- For the first time since the season opener on Aug. 23, the Northwestern State soccer team will return home to square off with Prairie View A&M Sunday at 1 o'clock in the final non-conference matchup of the 2013 regular season.
 
The Lady Demons (1-5-0) finished a five-game road trip that featured two of the top teams in the country (Baylor, Ole Miss) two state rivals (Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, and the NSU's first win (Jackson State, 1-0).
 
Prairie View (0-6-0) has faced four Southland Conference teams in Lamar, Incarnate Word, Nicholls, and Sam Houston.
 
Northwestern State has three players who have two points each on the year.  Brooke Eastburg, Yanci Johnson- who is out for the year, and Taylor Mulnix each have scored a goal on the season.
 
Prairie View's leading point-getter is Celene Batrez who has seven points on three goals and one assist.  She is followed by Arianna Rountree with three points and Maria Sanchez with two.
 
The Lady Demons will remain home on Friday at 7 o'clock to open conference play with Lamar before traveling to Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 22.
