LAFAYETTE –The Northwestern State soccer team continues its five-game road stint Sunday when the Lady Demons face Louisiana-Lafayette in game three of the trip at 1 o'clock in the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer Facility.
Northwestern State (0-3-0) is coming off a 5-0 loss to Ole Miss on Friday and Louisiana-Lafayette (0-2-2) comes in after a 1-1 tie with Southern.
NSU has one goal this season that came against Texas State in the first match of the year;
Yanci Johnson scored it with an assist from
Johanna Sigvardsson. Since then, the Lady Demons have faced two teams from power conferences including Top 10 nationally ranked Baylor.
The Ragin' Cajuns have losses against Ole Miss and Southland Conference member Southeastern Louisiana. Other than Southern, the Cajuns second tie came against Jacksonville State.
Northwestern State averages 0.33 goals per game and allows 4.33. Louisiana-Lafayette averages 0.75 goals per game and gives up two a match.
Shelby Isley and Annika Schmidt lead the Cajuns with three points apiece.
NSU will take the field next at Jacksonville State on Friday at 4 o'clock. They return home on Sept. 15 when they take on Prairie View A&M in the Lady Demon Soccer Complex.
