"Today was a bitter disappointment. Our goal as a program is to be able to beat and compete with Top 10 nationally ranked teams, and to do that you have to take your share of tough moments to learn from and grow,” said head coach George Van Linder, who is in his second year.  “I think this experience will pay off for the season but it is painful now."

Bri Campos scored the game's first goal in the third minute on a pass from York from the left of the box.  It was Campos' second goal of the year.

The second goal of the game was an own goal by Northwestern State; Vic Hoffman's cross was headed in by NSU.

"Our younger players learned about the physicality of college soccer and physically what it takes to be successful,”” said Van Linder.  "I know the team wanted a better performance but this doesn't take us away from any of our goals that we have set for ourselves and the team."

York scored her second and third goals this season in the 52nd and 55th minute, respectively.  Kat Ludlow and Anajadai Seals were credited with the assist on the first goal, and Hoffman was given the assist for the second goal.
