NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State will host its second soccer match of a five-game home stand when the Lady Demons take on Sam Houston at 7 o'clock in the Lady Demon Soccer Complex followed by an off-day on Sunday.
NSU (3-7-1, 1-2-1 Southland Conference) comes in after a 1-1 weekend that saw its first SLC win of the year at Houston Baptist and a loss at home to Central Arkansas.
The Bearkats (4-5-1, 2-1-0 SLC) come into the match after back-to-back wins over Incarnate Word and McNeese State.
Mariah Titus, who has 10 points on the season on five goals, leads Sam Houston. She is followed by Shannon Shields who has six points after scoring two goals and assisting on two more.
Brooke Eastburg and
Johanna Sigvardsson leads Northwestern State with four points apiece. Eastburg has two goals and Sigvardsson has one goal and two assists.
The Lady Demons get a much-needed day off on Sunday, and return to the field on Oct. 11 to face Abilene Christian at 7 o'clock.
The five-game home stand will end Northwestern State's home schedule for the 2013 season. The final two matches will be against McNeese and Nicholls.
