Box Score NATCHITOCHES – Brianna Singh's goal-scoring header in overtime gave Southeastern Louisiana a 1-0 victory over the Northwestern State soccer team Sunday afternoon in Southland Conference action.

Southeastern Louisiana (12-3-1, 7-2-0 Southland Conference) and NSU (6-9-1, 4-4-1 SLC) held each other scoreless through regulation, but Singh was able to win the game on a golden goal from a long throw in by Katie Noonan that was tipped up by Kelsey Salcido.

"Soccer can be a cruel game at times. We had the chances to win and we felt confident about it going into the overtime," said head coach George Van Linder. "Credit Southeastern for getting the win. They had a chance and took advantage of it."

It was the fifth overtime game the Lady Demons played this conference season, and the first loss in extra minutes.

NSU goalkeeper Jessica Danku played the entire match in the goal and had 12 saves, but Singh was able to sneak it past her just inside the left post.  Hope Sabadash had five saves for the Lions.

Brooke Eastburg led the Lady Demons with five shots, and one on-goal.  Ashlee Savona and Cassandra Briscoe each had two shots.

Salcido and Singh both led SLU in shots with three; all of Singh's was on goal and two of Salcido's were.

Southeastern Louisiana outshot NSU 17-12, and had 13 shots on-goal against NSU's five.

NSU will return to the field on Oct. 27 when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to face Oral Roberts.  After ORU, the Lady Demons will round out the regular season with Incarnate Word (Nov. 1) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 3).
