NATCHITOCHES – For the final time, eight seniors will take the field in the Lady Demon Soccer Complex when the Northwestern State women's soccer team hosts Nicholls in Southland Conference play on Friday at 7 o'clock for Senior Day.

Ashlee Savona,
Danielle Harding,
Yanci Johnson,
Cassidy Browning,
Taylor Mulnix,
Alexandria Jackson, and
Jade Theriot will all be honored during pregame festivities in their final home game of the 2014 season.
Northwestern State (5-8-1, 3-3-1 Southland Conference) currently sits fifth in the league standings, just one spot behind Nicholls (10-3-1, 4-3-0 SLC). Including Nicholls, the Lady Demons still have to face three of the top four teams in a fight to try and move up the standings.
The top six teams make it to the Southland Conference Tournament that will be held in Lake Charles.
Savona and Mulnix are tied with
Brooke Eastburg and
Johanna Sigvardsson for the team-lead in points with four. All, but Sigvardsson, have two goals in 2014.
Danku ranks 12th in the nation in total saves (90) and 19th in saves per game (6.43).
Nicholls State secured its first winning season on Sunday when the Colonels defeated Central Arkansas 2-1.
Spencer Valdespoino leads Nicholls and the Southland Conference in points with 27 on the year. She has 11 goals and five assists.
The Colonels have three other players with double-digit point totals: Lauren O'Brien (13), Hannah Savoie (11), and Jess Coates (10).
The two programs share a win over McNeese. Nicholls has also has defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Abilene Christian, and UCA. Northwestern State has wins over Sam Houston State and Houston Baptist.
The Lady Demons will have four matches after Friday's game. They will start the road swing at Southeastern Louisiana at 1 o'clock.
