NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State women's soccer team looks to rebound from a close loss to Abilene Christian on Friday night when they host McNeese State Sunday at 1 o'clock at the Lady Demon Soccer Complex in Southland Conference action.
NSU (4-8-1, 2-3-1 Southland Conference) lost 1-0 to Abilene Christian on a late free kick. McNeese State (5-8-1, 0-6-0 SLC) comes in on a six-game losing streak, and has not won a match in eight contests.
Three Lady Demons lead NSU in points.
Brooke Eastburg (two goals),
Nikki Saunders and
Johanna Sigvardsson (one goal, two assists) each have four points this season.
Tori Lasiter leads McNeese in points with eight on four goals, and Haley Lyons follows with seven points on three goals and one assist.
Northwestern State sits in the ninth spot in the Southland Conference standings, and has to play four teams that sit above it on the list. McNeese State is in the 13
th spot.
Northwestern State's final home match of the year will be on Friday at 7 o'clock when it hosts Nicholls, and is designated as Senior Day when the Lady Demons honor their seniors. NSU has four matches after the final home match before the Southland Conference Tournament.
