Lady Demons set to host Abilene Christian

NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State women's soccer team continues its five-game home stand with match three against Abilene Christian at 7 o'clock for the annual 'Pink Out' game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. 
 
Fans that wear pink to the match will only get a reduced ticket price of $3.
 
Abilene Christian (10-2-1, 4-2-0 Southland Conference) sits fourth in the Southland Conference standings, although they are not eligible for postseason play.  Northwestern State (4-7-1, 2-2-1 SLC) is three spots behind in seventh.
 
Through the first five league matches, NSU has played three overtime games that resulted in two wins and one tie.
 
Three Lady Demons lead NSU in points.  Brooke Eastburg (two goals), Nikki Saunders and Johanna Sigvardsson (one goal, two assists) each have four points this season. 
 
ACU shares wins with NSU over Sam Houston and Houston Baptist, as well as Southeastern Louisiana and Central Arkansas.
 
Andrea Carpenter leads the Wildcats by far in points with 23 on nine goals and five assists.
 
Abilene Christian averages 1.69 goals scored per game while allowing on 0.77 per match.
 
NSU averages 0.83 scores a game, and its opponents average 2.33.
 
The current homestand will be the final home matches of the 2013 season.  The fourth match will be Sunday versus McNeese State at 1:00, and the final home game of the year will be on Oct. 18 against Nicholls at 7 o'clock.
