PINE BLUFF – The Northwestern State Lady Demon soccer team will travel to Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday for a non-conference match.

NSU (3-4) notched their first road win of the season Friday as they defeated Arkansas-Little Rock 4-0. Freshman Cassandra Briscoe led the Lady demons as she notched two goals against UALR. Yanci Johnson and Jackie Strug also had tallies for NSU.

Johnson currently leads NSU with five goals, followed by Ashlee Savona with two goals and three assists.

“We are looking forward to playing a team that made the NCAA tournament last year,” said head coach George Van Linder. “We always stress to our team that good teams win on Friday, but great teams win on Sunday.”

NSU is facing off against the Lady Lions for the first time in program history.
