Box Score Tulsa, OK. – The Northwestern State Lady Demon soccer team fell to Oral Roberts 5-0 in non-conference play Friday night.

NSU dropped to a 1-2 record while ORU pushed their record to 2-2-1 on the season.

Ashley Martin, Mary-Kate Halsmer and Lauren Parks each had a tally in the first half giving the Golden Eagles a 3-0 by halftime.

Martin scored on a free kick from 40 yards out to give ORU a 1-0 lead before assiting Peters on a corner kick that led to a header for a 3-0 lead.

ORU went on to score two times in the second half; once each by Jennifer Abernathy and Kayla Keller just five minutes apart.

“This game did not reflect who we are as a team,” said head coach George Van Linder. “We played with a little bit more fight in the second half.”

Ashlee Savona led the Lady Demons in shots with two, both on goal. Danielle Harding also had two tries.

Freshman goalkeeper Brook Bourbonais made two saves in 48 minutes of play and junior Jessica Danku made four saves in net in her 42 minutes.

NSU took eight shots on goal.

The Lady Demons will take on Tulsa at 4:30 on Sunday for another non-conference match.
