Donald Pickett has announced six new additions to the Lady Demon roster for the 2014 season, including National Fastpitch Coaches Association 2011 All-American pitcher Skylar Cagle from Pilot Point (Texas) and 2011 NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete Baylee Shephard, a catcher for Shreveport-Evangel Christian Academy.
“We are excited about the 2013 signees,” said Pickett. “They will help us take another step forward with our program.”
Shephard has helped Evangel Christian Academy to three state championships and four district championships since 2009.
Shephard tied the Evangel school record for most RBI in a single season with 41 in 2012. She was named to the LHSAA Class 2A All-State team, and to the LHSAA Class 2A District 1 All-District team in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Cagle, a pitcher from Pilot Point High School, was an NFCA All-America second-team selection as a sophomore in 2011, when she was NFCA first-team All-Region. She has been named district MVP for the past two seasons, as well as team MVP for the past three seasons.
Cagle earned All-Texomaland first-team and Denton Record Chronicle All-Area MVP awards as a junior. The Denton Record Chronicle named Cagle All-Area Co-Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore, after she won Newcomer of the Year as a freshman.
