NATCHITOCHES -- Fans across the country can watch the Northwestern State Demons taking on the unbeaten Sam Houston State Bearkats Saturday afternoon from Huntsville, Texas, through the ESPN GamePlan package, Southland Conference officials have announced.
The 3 p.m. game from Bowers Stadium in Huntsville is being telecast by Southland TV, and is available on dozens of network outlets in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas -- including Shreveport's KPXJ CW 21. It also can be watched at ESPN3.com online and at SouthlandNow on the southland.org website, along with nsudemons.com streaming.
Adding the ESPN GamePlan option, the game can be seen by television viewers across the country on DirecTV (channel 791), AT&T Uverse 4404, Dish Network (channel TBD) and select cable providers, according to Chris Mycoskie, director of televisoin and electronic media for the Southland Conference.
Locally, NSU fans are encouraged to gather at Mama's Oyster House on Front Street in Natchitoches for the "Official Away Game Watch Party" hosted by the NSU Alumni Association and NSU Athletic Association. Merchandise and prizes will be given away during the telecast of the Demons' game. The LSU-Western Kentucky game telecast on ESPNU follows at 6 Saturday evening.
