NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State soccer will honor breast cancer awareness on Sunday when the Lady Demons host Texas-San Antonio at 2 p.m. at the Lady Demon Soccer Complex in Southland Conference action.

The names of those who have battled the disease will be read during starting lineups in pregame activities.

The Lady Demons (7-8, 1-4 SLC) are searching for their first win in the last four games and will need a victory over UTSA (5-7-1, 2-2) to keep its hopes alive for a spot in the postseason conference tournament, an event NSU will host Nov. 3-6.

NSU is coming off a 2-0 loss to Texas State on Friday night while UTSA was open.

The Lady Demons currently sit in ninth place in the 10-team standings but a win could bump them into a tie for fourth place in the win column.  However a loss would mean NSU would likely need to win its remaining three games (at home against Central Arkansas and on the road at McNeese State and Lamar).

Northwestern State will also be looking to break a scoreless string as it has not scored a goal in the last three games.  Prior to the Texas State loss, the Lady Demons dropped a 5-0 contest to Stephen F. Austin and 1-0 decision to Sam Houston State, both on the road.  The last win was a 2-0 victory over Nicholls on Oct. 2.
