Luke Handy enters his first season as an administrative graduate assistant at Northwestern State, following a championship-winning career at Belhaven.
Handy played four seasons as a defensive back at Belhaven, earning academic all-conference honors each season and twice being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
He was a member of Belhaven's 2023 USA South Conference championship squad under current Demon head coach Blaine McCorkle. A member of Belhaven's leadership council and of the USA South Sportsmanship Team, Handy graduated with a 3.9 GPA in leadership and coaching with a minor in
sport management.
A four-year letterman at Sterlington High School, where he helped the Panthers win a state championship in 2021, Handy earned three all-district nods, two All-Northeast Louisiana picks and an all-state honor.
He is pursuing a master's degree in health and human performance with a sport administration concentration at Northwestern State.
