Landon Murray

Landon Murray (MS, ATC, LAT, RDN) arrived at Northwestern State in June 2025 as an athletic trainer for NSU Athletics to manage the overall daily healthcare of the men’s basketball team.

With a student-athlete focused philosophy, his approach goes beyond the prevention, assessment and treatment of injuries to encompass the total well-being of each member of the team. Murray brings broad clinical experience, having worked with football, equestrian, cheer, lacrosse, and most recently before his arrival in Natchitoches, completing an immersion with the Clemson men’s basketball team.
 
In addition to his clinical experience, Murray is passionately committed to service and leadership. He is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the Southeastern Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA) and the Louisiana Athletic Trainers’ Association (LATA). Prior to NSU, he chaired the District 3 Student Senate for the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA) and served on the Special Events Committee and as a Student Senator for the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association (SCATA).
 
Murray also holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Dry Needling (UDN-C1), Mental Health First Aid, and Seizure Recognition & First Aid. He is licensed by Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and is board-certified through the Board of Certification.
 
He earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina (2025), where he was recognized with the USC Outstanding Athletic Training Student Award for Excellence in Leadership, the NATA Bobby Gunn Student Leadership Award and the Richard E. Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship. He also holds a Bachelor of Health Science/Pre-Athletic Training from Limestone University (2023), where he received the Academic Excellence in Health Science/Pre-Athletic Training Award.
