Chris Salim joined the staff of the Northwestern State sports information office in September of 2025 after five years of working in the sports information office at Southeastern Louisiana Univerisity.
In four years at Southeastern (2018-2022), he was the primary contact for men's basketball, women's soccer, men's and women's track and field, men's and women's cross country and men's golf.
After his tenure at Southeastern, Salim spent one year coaching baseball at Between the Lines baseball academy in Shawnee, Kansas before returning to Natchitoches in 2023.
Salim has covered high school athletics locally since his return to Natchitoches in August of 2023.
Salim is also a Demon baseball alumni where he played from 2004-2006 under former Demon and Alabama head baseball coach Mitch Gaspard. Salim was part of the 2005 Southland Conference regular season champion Demons' baseball that received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after a 40-21 season.
He graduated from Northwestern State in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in communications.
Salim is also an alumni of St. Mary's high school in Natchitoches where he graduated in May of 2001.
