Bam Bryant enters his first season on the Northwestern State coaching staff, leading the Demons’ running back group.
Bryant came to Northwestern after a long career in Mississippi where he coached at nearly every level of college football in the Magnolia State.
A former Arkansas running back, Bryant spent the 2025 season as the offensive coordinator at Jones College where he helped the Bobcats earn a No. 15 ranking. Bryant also was Jones’ kickoff return coordinator.
Under Bryant, Jones’ offense averaged 360.4 yards and 27.6 points per game.
Bryant’s one-year stint at Jones came after he coached wide receivers at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for seven seasons. While with the Bulldogs, Bryant helped MGCCC capture six straight Mississippi Association of Community College South Division championships, the 2019 state championship and the 2019 national title.
In the summer of 2024, Bryant was part of the Bill Walsh Fellowship Program, working with wide receivers, kick and punt returners with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before his seven years at MGCCC, Bryant spent two seasons at Coahoma Community College. In addition to serving as the interim head coach, Bryant was the wide receivers coach, passing game coordinator and co-special teams coordinator.
He also coordinated summer and tryout camps for the Tigers.
Prior to arriving at Coahoma, Bryant spent three seasons at Delta State, coaching under former Demon assistant Todd Cooley.
Bryant coached wide receivers and return specialists and served as the passing game coordinator, summer camp director and the NFL liaison.
Bryant spent the 2012 season coaching wide receivers and return specialists at Millsaps where he helped it share the Southern Athletic Association championship. He also served as the Majors’ team academic coordinator.
He began his coaching career at Concord University in West Virginia. Serving as the running backs coach and co-special teams coordinator, Bryant helped lead the Mountain Lions to the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
Byrant played one season of professional football with the Memphis Xplorers of the af2 after his collegiate playing career at Arkansas and Upper Iowa. Bryant graduated from the Sam Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management. He earned his associate degree from Upper Iowa in 2000.
Bryant and his wife, Christina, have four children: Braylon, Dallis, Landyn and Kennede and three grandchildren, Skylar, Braylei and Kristofer.
