McKenzie Brewer joined the Northwestern State coaching staff as a graduate assistant prior to the spring 2021 season.
A four-year player for Stephen F. Austin, Brewer shined as a freshmen tallying 346 assists and a 7.86 assist per set average as the primary setter, ranking second in Ladyjacks history in total assists at the time. She went on to help SFA to their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance following her senior season where she averaged 4.51 assists with 10 or more in 32 of the team's 35 matches.
The Carroll High School product finished her degree in Nacogdoches and spent time as a club coach for TAV Houston and before arriving at NSU was an assistant coach at Tomball Memorial in Tomball, Texas.
