Kobe Cutrer is in his first season on the Northwestern State staff, but he already is familiar with the Southland Conference.
While earning his undergraduate degree in sports management from Southeastern Louisiana, Cutrer worked extensively with the SLU men's basketball program as a student manager and then as an intern within the Southeastern athletic department.
With the SLU program, Cutrer touched nearly every part of the Lions' operation, including equipment, video and on-court work.
Ahead of arriving in Natchitoches, Cutrer spent the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach at Pearl River Community College. In addition to his coaching duties, Cutrer oversaw the program's academic responsibilities. Under his tutelage, a pair of Pearl River players earned spots on the Dean's List.
Cutrer began his coaching career during his time as an undergraduate, assisting at Amite High School in the 2021-2022 season and two seasons at Loranger High School.
Outside of basketball, Cutrer interned as a football video coordinator at Southern University in the 2021 season.
A three-sport competitor at Amite High School, Cutrer is pursuing a master's degree in health and human performance at Northwestern State.
