Makenzi Weber

Makenzi Weber is in her first year as an athletic training graduate assistant at Northwestern State. She will work primarily with women's basketball for the 2021-22 season.

Weber is a graduate of Washington State where she received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in May of 2020. Following her graduation, Weber spent a year as an intern at the University of Tulsa. There she worked primarily with the Golden Hurricane volleyball team and assisted with football as needed.

While at WSU, she worked with track & field during the 2019-20 season where she was a teaching assistant for general medial aspects in athletic training while also evaluating, treating and rehabilitating athletes through therapeutic modalities and exercises. She also gained experience with the WSU football team and had the opportunity to work with the University of Washington and University of Idaho football teams as well.

She has assisted with the NCAA Regional Cross-Country Tournament and been a first aid volunteer at the Special Olympics, NAIA World Series and NCAA Men's Golf Regional Tournament during her time as a student.

Weber has been a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and North West Athletic Trainer's Association since 2017 and joined the Louisiana Athletic Trainer's Association in 2021. She is certified in CPR and first-aid and has received HIV/AIDS and blood borne pathogen training.
