Zachery Standiford

Zachery Standiford begins his second season as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the NSU men’s basketball team.

Standiford traveled to Belize with NSU center Larry Owens as part of a basketball tour with Sports Reach, a Christian organization that organizes international trips.

He helped create and implement COVID-19 protocols for the men's basketball team, which didn't miss a game because of the virus during the 2020-21 season.
 
Standiford served the UL Lafayette men’s basketball team as an undergraduate for two seasons, traveling to away games and assisting the head athletic trainer with daily duties.
 
The Opelousas native also assisted in coverage of the Ragin’ Cajuns football and baseball teams.
 
Standiford is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association who is certified in Red Cross AED, CPR and first aid.
 
Other professional development includes an internship with McLeod-Trahan-Sheffield Physical Therapy, assisting with the Philadelphia 76ers NBA Elite Camp and working with various high school sports and events around Louisiana.
 
He earned his bachelor of science in athletic training this past spring and is enrolled in graduate classes at NSU.
