After spending seven years in various positions with several professional sports franchises, Riley Walker is in his second season as a graduate manager with the Northwestern State men’s basketball team.

Walker spent the 2016-17 assisting the Demons staff, working closely with assistant coach Jeff Moore.

A 2016 graduate of Northwest University, Walker spent the 2015-16 season on Northwest’s basketball staff as an assistant coach. While with the Eagles, Walker worked closely with video editing through the Synergy Sports system, managed the team’s academics, tutored players and assisted with team scouting and daily basketball operations.

A native of Kirkland, Washington, Walker assisted with promotions for the Cougar Hardwood Classic and the Comcast Battle in Seattle in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, he coordinated the promotions staff for the games in Seattle.

Walker also worked with the Seattle Mariners in marketing and production, helping run in-game promotions and coordinating the Mariners’ Salute to Kids and Salute to Volunteers promotions.

Walker began working with the NBA’s Seattle Supersonics and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm’s promotions departments. He began his coaching career while in college, working with his high school alma mater, Christ Church High School as an assistant coach.

Walker, who is pursuing a master’s degree in sport administration, has volunteered his time with the Jamal Crawford Foundation in Seattle, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and other various charities.

Walker and his wife, Maika, are the proud parents of a newborn girl, London.
