• his father is one of the top players in UL Lafayette basketball history, helping the Ragin’ Cajuns to the 1992 and 1994 NCAA Tournaments. He’s in the UL Lafayette Athletics Hall of Fame (inducted 2011) ranking 10th in career scoring (1,592 points).
• Byron was a two-time All-State player at Grambling Lab for back-to-back state 1A champs.
