2024 SECOND-TEAM ALL-SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE RELIEF PITCHER

2024 Season:
• The Demons' most consistent pitcher appeared in 17 games in relief in his first Division I season.
• saved his fourth game of the seaon with a scoreless inning, striking out three in a May 17 win against Stephen F. Austin.
• closed the Demons' May 4 shutout win at Lamar with a pair of scoreless innings to earn his third save.
• fired three perfect innings of relief, striking out two, in a Game 1 loss of an April 19 doubleheader at UIW.
• earned a win by throwing a career-high five innings of relief, allowing two runs, in an April 12 victory at Nicholls.
• picked up his second three-inning save of the season, shutting out Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and striking out a career-high six in an April 5 win.
• collected his first career win with three innings of relief, striking out three in a March 29 win at McNeese.
• worked a combined four scoreless innings of relief against Little Rock (March 9) and Troy (March 1).
• picked up his first career save with three innings of relief in a Feb. 23 win against Stony Brook.
 
Prior to NSU:
• Pitched two seasons at Ranger College in Ranger, Texas.
• went 7-2 with a 2.90 ERA, striking out 76 hitters in 77 2-3 innings as a sophomore.
• added a save against McLennan.
• Went 3-3 with four saves in 26 appearances out of the bullpen as a freshman.
• struck out 45 batters in 49 2-3 innings.
 
High School:
• Lettered two seasons for coach Rob Stramp at Keller High School and Michael Boughton at Covenant Christian.
• named district Newcomer of the Year and Pitcher of the Year as well as first-team all-state and all-district as a senior at Covenant Christian.
• three-year basketball letterman for coaches Randall Durant (Keller) and Steve Turner (Covenant Christian).
• named district Newcomer of the Year and a second-team all-district performer as a senior.
• graduated with a 3.0 GPA.
 
Personal:
• Born Feb. 14, 2003.
• son of Davney and Brandon Bunch.
• has two sisters, Ellary and Abby.
• majoring in business administration.
• wants to have a career in marketing, preferably sports marketing, or a sport management career.
• life’s ambition is to “strive every day to be the best version of myself and make a difference in society either through sports or my future career while having a family.”
