Coaching Experience: Coached running backs in 2011 at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss., in a league that produced the NJCAA national champions at East Mississippi CC. In 2008, coached linemen (offense and defense) at his alma mater, Winston Academy in Louisville, Miss.
Playing Experience: A two-year starting offensive lineman who helped Mississippi College win the 2009 American Southwest Conference championship, Ward played in 2007 at Ouachita Baptist, where he lettered and made the 2007 Gulf South Conference All-Academic Team. He redshirted in 2006 at Central Arkansas, where NSU’s offensive coordinator Todd Cooley was the OC. In high school at Winston Academy, Ward was a four-year starter going both ways, and a 2005 All-State and Mississippi Private Schools Association All-Star. A three-year all-conference selection, he was the 2005 District 2-AA Most Valuable Lineman.
Personal: Born March 7, 1987 in Louisville, Miss. Parents are Joe and Annette Ward. He has one sister, Marianne.
