Dylan Belanger 2023-24

Dylan Belanger

One of the region’s most accomplished recruiters and someone who is very familiar with the Southland Conference, Dylan Belanger is in his first season on the Northwestern State coaching staff.

Belanger, who will be the Demons recruiting coordinator in addition to his coaching duties, comes to Natchitoches after spending the past four seasons at Stephen F. Austin.

While with the Lumberjacks, Belanger served as the team’s pitching coach. His 2021 SFA staff posted a 4.72 team ERA, ranking them in the top 100 of Division I staffs. Two pitchers on that staff continued their careers in the professional ranks.

Ahead of his tenure at SFA, Belanger spent three seasons as an assistant coach at New Orleans, coaching first base and the Privateers outfielders. Additionally, he served as UNO’s camp coordinator.

Belanger was part of the 2018 New Orleans coaching staff that guided the Privateers to a Southland Conference Tournament championship game appearance.

Before moving to the Division I level, Belanger spent three seasons in the Mississippi junior college circuit, spending one season apiece at Holmes Community College, Hinds Community College and Mississippi Delta Community College.

Belanger helped Hinds reach the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges playoff berth while sending 12 players to Division I programs. Belanger’s Hinds pitching staff had four All-MACJC selections and one All-Region 23 honoree.

At Mississippi Delta Community College, Belanger helped the Trojans reach the MACJC playoffs while sending a pair of pitchers to Delta State University.

A New Orleans native, Belanger spent six seasons coaching at the high school level in his home state.

Those six seasons were spent at Neville High School in Monroe where Belanger helped the Tigers reach the 2012 state semifinals and to a berth in the 2014 Class 4A state championship game.

A 2010 ULM graduate in general studies, Belanger earned his master’s degree in sports administration from American Public University in 2019.
