Junior (2007-08): Averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds in 12 games played... scored a season-high six points against Southern-New Orleans on Dec. 4 and had five points against Sam Houston State on Feb. 14... averaged 2.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in conference games only... connected on 3 of 9 from 3-point range for the season.
Sophomore (2006-07): Played in 26 games making 10 starts... averaged four points and 2.2 rebounds per game... had a 2.2 ppg and 1.4 rpg average in league games... scored a career-high 17 points against Arkansas-Monticello on Nov. 25... had 13 points vs. Alabama-Birmingham on Dec. 28 at the Virginia Christmas Classic in a game where she was a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range... also scored 11 points against North Texas on Dec. 21... pulled down a career-best eight rebounds at Eastern Washington (Dec. 15)... led the team in three-point shooting (10-33) with a 30.3 percentage... was a 70 percent free throw shooter (21-30).
Freshman (2005-06): Played in 16 games averaging six-and-a-half minutes of play... scored 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds... also had three assists and three steals.
High School: Lettered four years in basketball, three in track and two in tennis at Ouachita Parish High School... graduated with a 4.0 gpa... helped her team to the basketball playoffs all four years, including the semifinals her sophomore year and finals as a junior... qualified for the track regionals as a discus thrower her freshman through junior years... earned a berth in the state tennis doubles tournament as a junior, teaming up with her sister, Chrissy.
Personal: Born Akilah Omega Givens on October 15, 1986...daughter of Mattie and Tillman Givens... Has four siblings: Terry (33), Danielle (28), Chrissy (23) and Tillisha (19)... was class Valedictorian and also vice-president in student government and the National Honor Society... a three-year member of her high school band... President of Delta Sigma Theta sorority...member of Purple Jackets, Order of Omega and Gamma Sigma Alpha... majoring in physical education with a minor in math... named the 2006 Miss Black and Gold... voted onto the 2007 NSU Homecoming Court.
