Biography

2012: Saw action in 11 matches and 17 sets…put up a season-best one ace and two digs against Tennessee-Martin on Aug. 25.

2011: Served an ace on match point to help NSU snap UCA’s 31-match home winning streak on Oct. 5, it was the second longest active streak in the nation… collected a season-high 12 digs against SLU on Nov. 10… recorded five digs and a career-high four kills vs. Alcorn on Sept. 16… played 75 sets and earned two starts… fifth on the team in digs with 113 (1.51 d/s).

2010: Saw action in 24 matches, earned three starts and played in 59 sets… fifth on the team in digs (67)… career-high 17 digs against Southeastern La. on Nov. 11… registered 10 digs against Centenary on Oct. 20.

High School:  A multi-sport star at Fontainbleau HS, Guttierrez excelled in volleyball where she earned numerous honors throughout her career, including first team all-district as a junior and senior, second team as a sophomore, and honorable mention honors as a freshman... as a senior, she finished with 88 aces, 384 kills and 309 digs... named the FHS, district and metro MVP as well as being named to the All-State team... named academic All-State and earned honorable mention honors by Prepvolleyball.com... helped her team to a 43-3 finish, 12-0 in district play, and a Division I-5A State semifinal appearance... in her four years, he teams compiled a 135-32 overall record and a remarkable 44-4 district record with two district titles... a member of the district champion track team where she threw the discus and javelin, and also competed her freshman year in softball where she was named all-district honorable mention and earned rookie of the year honors.
Personal:  Born January 21, 1992... daughter of Jimmy and Michelle Guttierrez... father is the Kenner Fire Department Captain... one sister, Jamie (23) who graduated in May 2011 from Southeastern Louisiana with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a minor in administrative supervision... undecided on a major but plans to attend LSU Veterinary Medicine School.
