NATCHITOCHES – Dylan Marionneaux did not have to finish what he started in order to be honored by the Southland Conference.

For the third time this season, Marionneaux has been named the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week, earning the honor for his performance against Stephen F. Austin on Saturday.

Marionneaux scattered four hits and allowed one run in 8 1-3 innings of the Demons' 2-1, series-clinching win against the Lumberjacks as he continued his strong run of pitching at Brown-Stroud Field. He struck out eight, marking the third time this season for Marionneaux to fan at least eight opposing hitters.

Following a home run and a walk to back-to-back Stephen F. Austin hitters in the fourth, Marionneaux retired the next 12 before a bunt single snapped that streak.

Marionneaux faced only one at-bat with runners in scoring position, retiring that batter as he and Lucas Harrington held the Lumberjacks to an 0-for-3 mark with runners in scoring position.

A junior from Zachary, Marionneaux has pitched 26 1-3 innings in his past three home starts, allowing a total of three earned runs while striking out 25 in that time.

The award is the fourth career honor for Marionneaux, who previously had won the award after each of his three career complete games.

The Demons return to action Tuesday when they open a two-game midweek series at No. 16/22 Arkansas. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Baum-Walker Stadium.
