NATCHITOCHES – Throw complete games, win Southland Conference honors – that has been the pattern Northwestern State right-hander Dylan Marionneaux has fashioned in his career.

It held true again Monday as Marionneaux collected his second Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week honor of the season and the third of his career. The SLC Pitcher and Hitter of the Week awards are voted on by league sports information directors.

Marionneaux, a junior from Zachary, tossed a six-hit, complete game against Houston Christian on Saturday, scattering six hits and not allowing an earned run while striking out a career-high 11 as he improved to 4-2 on the season.

Marionneaux earned his first SLC Pitcher of the Week honor of the season on March 23.

In a game where the Demons led by one for the final six innings, Marionneaux did not permit a runner past first base in his final six innings of work.

Across his last 15 innings, Marionneaux has allowed seven hits and one walk while striking out 16 and has not permitted an earned run to score in that stretch.

Through 57 1-3 innings this season, Marionneaux has struck out 55 hitters while walking 12. His two complete games are tied for second nationally while he also holds top-100 marks in fewest walks per nine innings (55th, 1.88), strikeout-to-walk ratio (59th, 4.58) and strikeouts (T-100th, 55).

Marionneaux and the Demons return to action Tuesday night against LSU in Baton Rouge. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.
