STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Northwestern State volleyball team extends its stay in west Texas as they travel to compete in the Tarleton State Classic Friday and Saturday.
NSU (1-3) enters the weekend looking to bounce back from a loss to Abilene Christian (2-2) Wednesday night on the road in three sets.
The Demons showed signs of improvement in the second set as they had 10 of their 23 kills in the second frame before falling 25-20.
"We are learning," said NSU head volleyball coach
Ben Kaszeta. "We showed that we are capable of competing at a high level (in the second set) at times but just have to do it more consistently."
The Demons will play two matches on Friday as they face the New Mexico Lobos (3-0) at 1 p.m. before taking on Prairie View (0-4) at 4 p.m. Saturday, NSU will face host team Tarleton State (2-1) at 7 p.m. with a live video available at WACInternational.tv.
"I just want to see us show a little more consistency this weekend," said Kaszeta. "I think we have the pieces to be successful with the players learning how to sustain the consistency we need. But this is going to be a tough weekend of competition that really can help us win come conference play."
The Demons enter the weekend led by freshman
Elsie Sanchez Oliver with 34 kills through the first four matches. Redshirt freshman setter
Reagan Hamm leads the team with 60 assists while junior
