NATCHITOCHES – A banner season for both Northwestern State basketball programs continues in Lake Charles next week at the Southland Conference Tournament.
 
Both the men's and women's teams play their first game of the single-elimination tournament on Monday at the Legacy Center on the McNeese campus.
 
The fifth-seeded women will take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. on Monday morning while the fourth-seeded men will play the winner of 8/5 matchup between Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and HCU at 5 p.m.

The men and women each won 12 games during the 2024-25 conference season. It is the seventh time since the Demons joined the Southland Conference prior to the 1987-88 season that both teams won more than 10 conference games in the same year.
 
This season marks the first time that both teams 12 or more conference games in a single campaign.
 
Fans making the trip to Lake Charles, and those unable to make the drive down, are encouraged to attend a send-off pep-rally for both teams scheduled for Friday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. at Prather Coliseum.
