NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Northwestern State Demons host the East Texas A&M Lions Thursday night at Prather Coliseum at 6:30 p.m. in Southland Conference volleyball competition for 'Bad Tunes' night.
Fans will get to choose a "bad tune" that the opposing team will have to listen to during their serve. The promotion also links to the website, NSUDemons.Com/BadTunes, for more information and to support the team.
The Demons (1-25, 0-12 SLC) are coming off a 3-0 loss on the road Saturday to Houston Christian (12-13, 7-5 SLC). NSU was led by
Olivia Bush with eight kills while
Jade Longlad dished out 21 assists.
Harper Cauley led the Demons' defense with 14 digs while
Emmarie McFarland had 11.
The Lions (7-16, 5-7 SLC) were defeated Saturday by the UIW Cardinals (13-11, 9-3 SLC) 3-0 on the road. Gracie Campbell led the Lions with 11 kills while Jade Washington had 17 digs despite falling to the Cardinals 25-14, 25-14 and 25-21.
The Demons enter Thursday led by senior
Deja Benjamin with 181 kills. Longlad, a junior, leads the Southland with 46 aces and has 336 assists to lead the team.
Bush has been a bright spot for the Demons in the last two weeks as well. The junior is averaging 8.4 kills in her last four matches.
The Lions lead the all-time series over the Demons 5-3 with the teams splitting the last four matches. NSU won both matches in 2023 while the Lions swept the season series in 2024.
