NATCHITOCHES – The latest Northwestern State Athletics Giving Day was the greatest yet.

NSU fans and supporters donated a record total of $345,817 to Demon athletics during the May 15 event, more than tripling the initial goal.

"We had an initial goal of $100,000, and our supporters blew that out of the water," Director of Athletics Kevin Bostian said. "We extended that goal to $300,000 and surpassed that. Our appreciation for what those who gave is as immense as the support they gave to our student-athletes. Their financial commitment to our program will help us continue to build momentum in the competitive arena and all areas of the student-athlete experience."

Donations from Giving Day will be spread throughout the athletic department, assisting with summer school tuition, facility improvements and the general scholarship fund for more than 375 student-athletes who compete for Northwestern State.

"These donations help us take care of summer school, operational needs and equipment needs," Bostian said. "Those are things that will help move our program forward. We could not have done it without the generosity of these donors. We will take the momentum we built on Giving Day with us throughout the summer and into the 2024-25 athletic year."
