Garcia earns second-team All-SLC honors

NATCHITOCHES – Coming off an impressive regular season, Sofi Garcia earned much-deserved recognition. 

Garcia, a sophomore from Buenos Aires, Argentina, earned a spot on the Second Team All-Southland Conference, the conference announced Thursday. 

The teams were voted on by the sports information directors and coaches from the Southland Conference. 

Garcia compiled a 6-1 mark at the No. 4 singles spot. 

She won eight of her last 10 match ups, finishing the regular season with a 13-5 overall mark. 

Among her victories during the season, she took down competitors from both Tulane and Southern Miss, winning both in straight-sets. 

Garcia leads the Lady Demons into the conference tournament, beginning Friday against NJIT.
