Chris Allen, OL, 6-3, 265, Shreveport, La./Captain Shreve HS
High School: Named second-team all-district as a senior … helped the Gators rush for an average of 216.8 yards per game and paved the way for an offense that averaged 361.6 yards and 22.1 points per game as a senior.
 
Jeremiah Bodwin, DE/OLB, 6-4, 225, Dallas, Texas/Parish Episcopal HS (Nevada)
Prior to NSU: Spent two seasons at the University of Nevada.
High School: Team captain at nationally ranked Parish Episcopal … helped lead coach Daniel Novakov's Panthers to state championships in his sophomore and senior seasons … also played basketball and competed in track and field.
 
Ja'Marion Bonner, CB, 6-1, 180, Bastrop, La./Sterlington HS
High School: Four-year letterman for coach Lee Doty's Panthers … earned all-district and all-parish honors as a senior … all-district selection as a junior when the Panthers went 15-0 and won a state championship … two-year basketball letterman for coach Paul Glynn's basketball team.
 
Sylvester "Pete" Campbell III, TE, 6-4, 240, Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther HS (Mississippi Valley State)
Prior to NSU: Played one season at Mississippi Valley State, earning third-team All-SWAC honors from Phil Steele … caught 13 passes for 124 yards and four touchdowns for the Delta Devils … had three catches for 13 yards and a touchdown against Delta State … had a season-best 26 yards receiving and a touchdown against Bethune-Cookman.
High School: Two-sport athlete at MLK High School … earned second-team all-conference honors in football as a sophomore and as a senior for coach Rick Hoppert's Spartans … honorable mention all-conference basketball player for coach Paul Wollersheim.
 
Christian Davis, DL, 6-2, 300, Ruston, La./Ruston HS
High School: Helped lead coach Jerrod Baugh's Bearcats to their first state championship game appearance since 1998 as a senior … first-team all-district and all-state selection recorded 76 tackles (9 for loss), five sacks and had an interception as a senior.
Personal: Born Feb. 15, 2005 … son of Kristina Davis and Cedric Rhone … has two brothers, JaShawn and Cedric Jr., and a sister, Michaela … plans to major in electrical engineering technology … life's ambition is to get to the NFL.
 
Will Derrick, WR, 6-0, 170, Shreveport, La./Calvary Baptist (ULM)
Prior to NSU: Played in 22 games in four seasons at ULM … caught 29 passes for 390 yards and a touchdown in his career … former walk-on earned a scholarship before the 2021 season and set career highs with 25 catches and 353 yards that season … named ULM's "Receiver of the Year" in 2021 … threw a touchdown pass against Texas State in 2022 … had career bests of five catches, 135 yards and a touchdown against South Alabama in 2021 … his 81-yard touchdown grab against the Jaguars is the fifth-longest in ULM history.
High School: Lettered one season for coach Rodney Guin's Cavaliers … had 31 receptions for 532 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior, earning all-city and all-district honors … also completed all six pass attempts for 97 yards and two touchdowns that season … caught three passes for 88 yards and two TDs and completed a 24-yard pass in playoff game vs. D'Arbonne … had four catches for 89 yards and three scores vs. Loyola … hauled in four passes for 76 yards and a score against Bastrop ... lettered five seasons in baseball for Shannon Cunningham as an outfielder and pitcher … earned three all-district honors, two all-state selections and made one all-city team.
 
Ty Ely, DE, 6-2, 245, Oxnard, Calif./Oaks Christian HS (New Mexico St./Moorpark CC)
Prior to NSU: Played one season each at New Mexico State and Moorpark Community College … recorded 25 tackles, one sack and one interception at Moorpark … had a single-game high of seven tackles and returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown in a win against Grossmont … added a touchdown catch at tight end.
High School: Four-year letterman for coach Jim Benkert's Lions … two-way player had 78 career solo tackles and five sacks … named all-league three times and was the league's defensive lineman of the year as a senior … added four rushing touchdowns in his career … named the team's outstanding sophomore and earned all-southern section honors … lettered one season in baseball.
 
Amaaz Eugene, WR, 5-8, 160, New Iberia, La./Westgate HS
High School: Three-sport letterman at Westgate … played football for coach Ryan Antoine … totaled more than 2,700 all-purpose yards and scored 23 touchdowns as a senior … earned first-team all-district honors as an athlete … helped the Tigers go 10-4 as a senior … three-time state champion in track and field as a sprinter … also lettered in basketball … holds a 3.45 GPA.
Personal: Born Jan. 27, 2005 … son of Anissa Provost and Jared Eugene … has 11 siblings – seven sisters and four brothers … plans to major in biology … wants to attend either dental or physical therapy school … life's ambition is to get his degree, support his family and enjoy life.
 
JT Fayard, QB, 6-5, 220, Richmond, Texas/Foster HS
High School: Two-year letterman for coach Shaun McDowell's Falcons … threw for 3,539 yards and 36 touchdowns in his career in one of Texas' toughest 5A districts … completed 63 percent of his passes and had a 110 QB rating … longest pass was a 95-yarder … was named the District 10-5A Preseason MVP ahead of his senior year … earned first-team all-district honors as a quarterback as a senior … named second-team all-district as a junior ... also lettered in basketball … has a 3.8 GPA and was named to the Academic All-State team as a senior.

High School: Three-sport letterman for the Vikings … lettered two seasons in football for coach KJ Williams … earned first-team all-state and all-district honors as a wide receiver and was a first-team all-district and second-team all-state cornerback as a senior for the district champs … as a junior was named second-team all-district as Nolan Catholic went 8-4 and reached the second round of the playoffs … also lettered in track and field and baseball … has a 3.6 GPA.
 
Cam Hardy, S, 6-1, 195, Frisco, Texas/Reedy HS (South Carolina)
Prior to NSU: Spent two seasons at South Carolina, earning one letter … named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll as a freshman … holds a 3.6 grade point average as a business administration major.
High School: Four-year football letterman for coach Chad Cole's Lions … two-way player as a safety and wide receiver … intercepted three passes as a senior despite an early-season injury … ranked as the No. 212 safety nationally and Texas' No. 374 prospect by 247Composite … also lettered one season in basketball.
 
Brendon Harris, LB, 6-3, 220, Homer, La./Homer HS
High School: Three-year letterman for coach Richie Casey's Pelicans … earned Academic All-State honors and was a first-team all-district pick as a senior after recording 50 tackles and three sacks for the state runner-ups … entered the year as a Shreveport Times Preseason Player of the Year candidate … recorded 84 tackles (13 for loss), five sacks and two interceptions as Homer won the state championship his junior season … was a Louisiana Horizon Award winner as well as a first-team all-district and all-state selection … made 53 tackles and had two sacks to earn second-team all-district honors as a sophomore as Homer reached the state semifinals … track letterman was the No. 1 400 meter runner in his district … member of the Future Business Leaders of America, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honor Society … owns a 3.8 GPA and was the Homer High School Student of the Year.

Prior to NSU:
Appeared in nine games in two seasons at Central Arkansas, playing wide receiver and returning kicks ... averaged 30.5 yards on two kick returns and had two carries for three yards.
High School: Two-sport letterman at Dawson High School ... named District 23-6A Player of the Year and was honorable mention all-state after accumulating more than 2,300 all-purpose yards and scoring 23 touchdowns ... all-district honoree as a junior ... all-state track and field selection, running the 100 meters in 10.5 seconds.

Jeremiah Keppard, S, 6-3, 170, New Orleans, La./St. Augustine HS
High School: Played for coach Nick Foster's Purple Knights … earned first-team all-district honors as a linebacker in his senior season, helping St. Aug go 7-3 and reach the second round of the Division I Select playoffs.  
Personal: Born June 23, 2005 … son of Valeska and Sidney Keppard … has two sisters and a brother … plans to major in health and exercise science … wants to become a physical trainer … life's ambition is to make in the NFL and achieve all the goals he sets.
 
Ryan Larson, OL, 6-4, 290, Nacogdoches, Texas/Nacogdoches HS
High School: Lettered three seasons for the Dragons … earned first-team all-district and first-team academic all-district in his final two seasons … was a first-team academic all-district pick and an honorable mention all-district selection as a sophomore … also lettered in powerlifting … has a 3.6 GPA.
Personal: Born Oct. 20, 2004 … son of Tricia and Kent Larson … has one sister, Ashton … plans to major in veterinary technology … wants to attend veterinary school and become a vet.
 
Tyler McMillan, OL, 6-6, 315, Detroit, Michigan/River Rouge HS (Mississippi Valley State)
Prior to NSU: Competed in football and track and field at Mississippi Valley State … initially committed to Tulsa.
High School: Played for coach Corey Parker's Panthers … three-star recruit as named by ESPN and 247Sports.com … helped River Rouge improve from a winless team his freshman year to a team that went 25-3 in his final two seasons … honor roll student carried a 3.3 GPA anwas a magna cum laude graduate.
Personal: Born Oct. 9, 2003 … son of Rashida and Terrence McMillan … has two brothers, Xavier and Juwon, and a sister, Morgan … majoring in criminal justice … wants to play in the NFL or become an FBI agent.
 
Chancellor Owens, DE, 6-3, 255, Haslet, Texas/V.R. Eaton HS
High School: Two-year letterman for coach Ellis Miller's Eagles … two-time all-district selection … recorded 73 tackles (9 for loss), 10 sacks, a fumble recovery and scored a touchdown as a senior … notched 60 tackles, (9 for loss), 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a safety as a junior … helped Eaton reach the playoffs in his junior season as the Eagles went 8-3.

High School: Three-year letterman for coach Nicholas Cavallo's Longhorns … lettered two years in wrestling … vice president of MSA and member of HUGS.

High School: Three-time all-district selection for Marcus Yanez' Rams … finished his senior season with 57 tackles, including 23 for loss, 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception … earned all-district honors on defense and special teams as a holder as a junior … had 70 tackles, five for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception as a junior.

Prior to NSU: Spent three seasons at Garden City … played in 14 games for the Broncbusters … helped Garden City average 345.4 yards per game and 25 points per contest in 2022.
High School: Three-star recruit at Woodlawn for coach Marcus Randall's Panthers … three-year starter earned all-district honors as a junior and a senior … also played baseball at Woodlawn.
 
Troy Santa Marina Jr., CB, 5-11, 175, Slidell, La./Brother Martin HS
High School: Four-year letterman for coach Mark Bonis' Crusaders … helped lead Brother Martin to a state runner-up finish as a senior … collected 53 tackles (2 for loss), five interceptions and four pass breakups as a senior and added two carries for 60 yards and a touchdown … as a junior, had four carries for 40 yards and a touchdown while returning two kicks for 100 yards as Brother Martin went to the state semifinals … helped the Crusaders to a 10-1 mark and an undefeated district title as a sophomore … as a freshman, rushed 16 times for 125 yards and a touchdown as the Crusaders went 9-3 and reached the state semifinals … three-year basketball letterman for coach Christopher Biehl … honor roll student who has a 3.2 GPA.

High School: Two-way standout for coach Luke Blackwell's Yellowjackets … was a three-star recruited according to Rivals.com and 247Sports.com … was an SI All-American candidate … recorded 144 tackles, 11 for loss, and three sacks as a senior while also rushing for 3,082 yards and 36 touchdowns as Mineola reached the Class 3A Division I regional championship … had 13 100-yard rushing games that season … named first-team all-district and first-team All-East Texas as a junior after recording 98 tackles, five for loss, and 12 quarterback hurries … named the District 8-3A-1 Defensive MVP as a sophomore … rushed for more than 4,400 yards and had 52 rushing touchdowns in his career.
 
Nazir Sy, DL, 6-3, 300, Peachtree Corners, Ga./Norcross HS (Akron/Butler CC)
Prior to NSU: Spent three seasons at Akron … appeared in 18 games for the Zips, including all 12 in the 2021 season … finished his Akron career with 24 tackles … had a season-high three tackles at Ohio State in 2021 … turned in a career-best four stops against Ohio in 2020 … played one season at Butler Community College, helping the Grizzlies go 10-3 … all-conference selection after collecting 42 tackles (7.5 for loss) and 4.5 sacks.
High School: Lettered three seasons for coach Keith Maloof … earned all-conference honors.
 
Tyler Vander Waal, QB, 6-4, 220, Sacramento, California/Christian Brothers HS (Idaho State)
Prior to NSU: Lettered two seasons at Idaho State after beginning his career at the University of Wyoming … appeared in three games in 2022, throwing for 335 yards and three scores … threw for 375 yards and two touchdowns before suffering an injury in the 2021 fall season … named the 2021 spring Big Sky Conference Newcomer of the Year and second-team All-Big Sky after throwing for 1,843 yards and accounting for 12 touchdowns in six games … started his career at Wyoming, appearing in 17 games (nine starts) across two seasons … led the Cowboys to fourth-quarter comebacks against Wofford and Air Force in 2018, earning Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors after the win against Air Force … threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 22 yards and two scores against the Falcons … earned Academic All-Mountain West honors in 2018.

High School: Two-year letterman for Brian Brazil's Hawks … first-team all-district selection as a senior when he also was a team captain, helping Hebron go 8-3 and reach the state playoffs … helped Hebron go 8-5 as a junior and reach the third round of the Texas Class 6A, Division II playoffs … earned second-team all-district honors after making 65 tackles (7 for loss), six sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown and an interception he returned for a score … two-year track and field letterman in the 110-meter hurdles who was named "most improved" as a freshman.
