BATON ROUGE – Sara Erenda continued her strong first fall season at Northwestern State in the second day of the ITA Southern Regionals.
Erenda reached the quarterfinals of both the singles and doubles draws.
In singles play, Erenda, who hails from Hall in Tirol, defeated Samford's Margaret Jaraczewski 6-4, 3-6, 10-6. She Is set to compete against McNeese's Ariane Monlleo Sanchis on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Erenda fell in the first round of the singles main in straight sets to Alabamas Anna Parkhomenko, 6-4, 6-4.
Erenda teamed with
Sofi Garcia to reach Saturday's quarterfinals after edging North Alabama's Kalais Going and Emma Ansorage, 8-7.
Paige Wise started the day off for the Lady Demons in the first round of the singles main by topping Elysia Pool from South Alabama 6-3, 6-2, while
Tjasa Klevisar fell in a close match against Mississippi State's Alexandra Mikhailuk 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
