HUNTSVILLE, Texas – After a strong showing at the ITA Southern Regional, the Northwestern State tennis team is back in action in the Bearkat Annual Fall Invitational, a four-day event that starts Friday.
Six Lady Demons are headed to Huntsville. One of the three freshman on the team is Sara Erenda, who dominated at the ITA Southern Regional.
The others making the trip include juniors Tjasa Klevisar and Ayu Ishibashi, sophomore Sofi Garcia and freshmen Maria Farina and Honoko Umeda.
In addition to NSU, the others in the tournament are Lamar, UTSA and the host school Sam Houston State.
The doubles pairing of Erenda and Garcia showed that they are a force that cannot be stopped.
Last season the Lady Demons had two players named to the All-SLC Singles teams, Paige Wise was named first-team while Ishibashi was named second-team. Garcia was also named second-team All-SLC in doubles.
The Bearkat Invitational is going to conclude the fall season for the Lady Demons.
