NATCHITOCHES – After setting one personal best and recording the top collegiate mark at LSU in two events,
Lauren-Ashley Clarke was named the Southland Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
Clarke achieved new heights in the high jump, clearing 5-10 and winning the event at the LSU Boots Garland Invitational on Saturday.
Clarke, who already owned NSU's third-best mark in school history, improved that height by .75 inches.
The 5-10 height ranks second in the Southland Conference and tied for 19
th nationally.
The Houston native also posted the top collegiate mark at LSU in the triple jump.
Her 41-5 placed second overall behind professional Lynnika Pitts of Tiger Olympics.
The weekly honor is Clarke's second of her career, first in the outdoor season.
