NATCHITOCHES – Two gold medals at the Louisiana Invitational supported
Diana Granados' bid for her first Southland Conference Track Athlete of the Week as voted on by the league's sports information directors.
Granados posted the fifth-best 600 meters time in NSU indoors history with a time of 1:41.54.
Her career best 600 meters time is her first individual event win of her career.
The Dallas native's other gold medal came on the lead leg of the 4x400 relay, which crossed in a converted 3:50.74. LSU's indoor track isn't banked, so the NCAA converts the raw time to a mark as if the track were banked.
Other relay participants include
Janiel Moore,
Erin Wilson and
Alexus Harris.
The weekly honor is also Granados' first of her career.
The converted 4x400 relay mark is the second best in the league this season.
