BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Northwestern State men's cross country team stretched its legs Saturday, running its longest race of eight kilometers this season at the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational.
Sophomore
Payten Vidourek continued in his role as the NSU pace-setter, finishing 181
st in the 265-runner field with a 26:31.40. Vidourek clocked in as high as 141
st at the 2K mark.
Freshman
Beau Melancon posted his highest team finish of the season as the second-fastest Demon, finishing 226
th with a 27:35.60.
Freshman
Blake Glorioso and sophomore
Xavier Wilson remained close throughout the course, as Glorioso (236) edged Wilson (237) by 11 seconds. Glorioso clocked a 28:00.10 with Wilson finishing in 28:11.80.
Freshmen
Dextrell Parks (257
th, 31:17.90) and
Jailyn Carter (261
st, 35:33.50) finished in their first career 8Ks as collegiate runners. It was Carter's first collegiate race with Parks suited up for NSU for the second time.
NSU's 950 points as a team ranked the Demons last in the 32-team field, chasing Nicholls (875 points) and Texas Wesleyan (875 points).
