BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The cross country season will increase in race length and competition Saturday as the Northwestern State men head to the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational.

More than 35 teams are expected to make the 8K trek around the men's course. There isn't a live stream of the race, but live results will be tallied at https://aggi.es/3DAwPdW

The men have run two four-mile races and one 5K in its first three meets this season, with the biggest field being eight teams.

The longer race is a warmup to the 8K Southland Conference Championships on Oct. 29, which will be held in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Sophomore Payten Vidourek has led the way in each of NSU's three meets this season, which includes a third-place finish at Stephen F. Austin, a seventh-place finish at Louisiana Tech and a 22nd showing at McNeese.

Vidourek's 20:36.20 at McNeese in the four-mile shaved nearly a minute off his previous four-mile best this season.

Freshman Xavier Wilson has finished as NSU's second-best runner twice with first-year freshman Blake Glorioso taking those honors in the opener.

As a team, the Demons finished sixth out of seven at McNeese, edging Grambling in the scoring.
