Victory Tour stops set for nine locations around the state

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State football coach Jay Thomas, many of his staff and other Demon coaches will preview upcoming seasons and greet supporters during the upcoming 2014 NSU Victory Tour, which will include nine stops close to nearly all in-state Demon fans.
 
A festive and family-friendly environment will be featured  on the Victory Tour July 21-Aug. 7 as Northwestern coaches, student-athletes, administrators and cheerleaders visit Winnfield (July 21), Shreveport-Bossier City (July 30), Baton Rouge (July 23), Lafayette (July 24), Alexandria-Pineville (July 28), Many (July 29), Coushatta (July 25), Leesville (July 31) and Natchitoches (Aug. 7).
 
"This year we hope to capitalize on the momentum the teams have right now, and we're hoping for lots of new faces at our events," said NSU assistant athletic director for marketing Kyle Barnard, who coordinates the Victory Tour. "We invite all former Demons around the state to unite and come to the Victory Tour as we get excited about the upcoming 2014-15 athletic year."
 
All Victory Tour stops are reception-style events that will last approximately two hours, including a brief program midway featuring Thomas and other NSU coaches in attendance. Door prizes will be awarded at each stop, with schedule cards and other promotional materials available.
 
The 2014 Victory Tour will start Monday, July 21 in Winnfield at the Don Purser Memorial Scramble and Winnfield Alumni gathering at the Pine Ridge Country Club. The 1 p.m. golf outing is free for those who register in advance, and the post-tournament reception at 6 o'clock will feature a great meal and a few words from NSU coaches. On Wednesday, July 23, the tour will stop in Baton Rouge at the Superior Grill on 5435 Government St. beginning at 6:00. The event will offer a complimentary meal and updates from Demon coaches.
 
The Thursday, July 24 Victory Tour stop in Lafayette will be hosted by Walk-On's Bistreaux and Bar at 2336 Kaliste Saloom  beginning at 6.
 
The Red River Parish Tour Stop, will be held  Friday, July 25,  at the home of former Coushatta mayor Tray Murray, 185 Army Road, beginning at 6.
 
Week two of the Victory Tour will begin in Alexandria at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 28, at Buffalo Wild Wings (2711 South MacArthur Drive).
 
A night later, the Sabine Parish Tour Stop is in Many at 6 o'clock on Tuesday, July 29, at Foy Motors  downtown at 1095 San Antonio Ave.
 
In Shreveport-Bossier, the exclusive Superior Steakhouse at 855 Pierremont Road is the site for the Victory Tour stop at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30.

The Vernon Parish Tour Stop on Thursday, July 31, will take place at Mexico Lindo, 2503 McRae Road in Leesville, beginning at 6.

The Natchitoches Tour Stop is Thursday evening, Aug. 7, starting at 6, presented by the NSU Alumni Association at the Collins Family Pavilion, the cornerstone of the Demon Alley tailgating zone just south of Turpin Stadium at 468 Caspari Drive.
