Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TULSA, Okla. – Steven Spann pitched 4.2 innings and grabbed a win and save as the Northwestern State baseball team swept a doubleheader, 3-1 and 6-4, over Oral Roberts Saturday and captured the three game conference series after a lopsided loss in the opener Friday night.

Spann pitched one perfect inning in the first game to earn the save after Adam Oller had a quality outing with 6.2 innings pitched with one run allowed on five hits. Andrew Adams (1-0) earned the win after he took over in the seventh and pitched through the ninth inning of an extra-frame game.

"Oller had a fantastic start, Andrew Adams was tremendous, and Spann showed guts to grab a save and win," said head coach Lane Burroughs

Spann earned the win on 3.2 innings pitched with no runs allowed on one hit and four strikeouts in the second game. Austin Tanner started the contest on the mound for NSU and worked two innings with one run allowed on two hits. Joey Parrack relieved him on one inning pitched and Josh Oller worked 2.1 inning. Parrack allowed and Oller allowed two.

"Our team as a whole showed guts and character today after what happened last night," said head coach Lane Burroughs. NSU lost 15-0 Friday night.

"I'm proud of the way they fought through it and erased last night's game," he said. "They gutted one out."

Nathan Lyons broke open the first game in the 10th inning with a two-run double down the left field line that scored Caleb Dugas and Cort Brinson, who had been out with a knee injury and surgery since the second game of the year Brinson reached on a hit-by-pitch and Dugas opened the inning with a double.

Oral Roberts scored first in game one on an Emmanuel Forcier double down the right field line that scored Anthony Sequeira. Northwestern State tied the game in the eighth when Chase Daughdrill single to left field to score Dugas, who reached on an error.

ORU scored in the first inning of the second game, and NSU responded in the second inning with two runs. Brinson and Daughdrill each reached on walks and both advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Regan Kaufman. Nathan Lyons put up a sacrifice fly to right field to score Brinson and Daughdrill scored on a wild pitch.

The Demons added another in the sixth inning when Kaufman knocked in Joel Atkinson on a sacrifice fly.

The Demons picked up two more in the seventh inning on an RBI single from Brinson and Matt Alford scored when Dugas reached on an error by the ORU first baseman.

The Demons added a final run in the eighth inning when Edwin Gomez singled to center field to score Lyons.
