HOUSTON –Tatiana Larina picked up a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Rice's Stephanie Nguyen Saturday at the Jason's Deli Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Houston.
 
Teammate Polina Ivanova fell 6-2, 6-2 to Rice's Lindsay Hodge. Ivanova/Larina were beaten 8-2 in doubles by Allison Ho and Hodge of Rice. All three Saturday matches for NSU were played at Rice.
 
Play wraps up Sunday in the three-day tournament.
 
Along with Rice, the host UH team and NSU, other schools competing are Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Lamar, Oklahoma, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, Syracuse, TCU and Tyler Junior College.
 
The SMU Blue and Red Challenge next weekend in Dallas wraps up the Lady Demons' fall schedule.
