Eight seniors lead NSU into final series of 2013 season

NATCHITOCHES – Will Watson, Nick Purdy, Todd Wallace, A.J. Funk, Matt Farmer, Matt Burns, Matt Baca, and Spencer Harrell will all lead the Northwestern State baseball team into its final series of the 2013 season when the Demons take on Oral Roberts at home starting at 6:30 on Thursday night. 
All eight seniors will be honored on “Senior Day” which is scheduled for Friday.  Game time is at 6:30, but festivities will begin at approximately 5:40 that evening. The final game of the set will be on Saturday at 2 o'clock. 
The Demons (15-38, 4-20 SLC) come into the game after losing a midweek game on Tuesday to Louisiana Tech.  Oral Roberts (21-29, 14-10 SLC) lost to Mississippi State. 
Right-handed pitcher Ashton Sivigliano (2-2, 4.36 ERA) is expected to get the start on the mound for the Demons on Thursday.  Robert Baker (4-4, 3.91) is on the schedule for Friday, and Cody Butler (3-4, 4.74) is set to go Saturday. 
ORU is expected to start Alex Gonzalez (7-5, 1.90) on Thursday, Drew Bowen (2-3, 3.88) on Friday, and Tim Zufall (5-2, 3.38) on Saturday. 
Watson leads the Demons in batting with a .310 batting average and 22 runs batted in.  Wallace is hitting .280 with 18 RBI and Purdy is hitting .261 with 20 runs knocked in. 
Tyler Boss leads ORU in hitting (.296) and RBI (31). Kevin Cho is hitting at a .282 clip and Logan Domenico has a .273 average. 
NSU was eliminated from Southland Conference Tournament contention a weekend ago, and ORU has already locked in its spot.
