FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –
Wayne Douglas led the Northwestern State men's track and field team on Saturday in its second day of competition at Arkansas' Tyson Invitational.
Douglas, a senior, placed second in the triple jump against elite competition with a mark of 49-05.75.
Twin brothers Emmanuel and
Aaron Williams also had good showings in the triple jump with each setting new personal records. Emmanuel placed sixth with a leap of 48-05.25, improving on his previous best mark of 47-00 by more than 10 inches, and Aaron finished ninth with distance of 47-08.50, over a foot further than his previous best leap of 46-05.25.
The Demons also had three runners set or tie personal bests in the 200m. Senior
Kendal Taylor finished 14
th with a blistering time of 21.50,
Hanoj Carter placed 21
st at 21.60 and
Karllis Perry tied his personal record of 22.33, finishing 43
rd.
The Demons join the Lady Demon squad next weekend as both teams head to Baton Rouge for the LSU Twilight meet.
