FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Wayne Douglas led the Northwestern State men's track and field team on Saturday in its second day of competition at Arkansas' Tyson Invitational.
 
Douglas, a senior, placed second in the triple jump against elite competition with a mark of 49-05.75.
 
Twin brothers Emmanuel and Aaron Williams also had good showings in the triple jump with each setting new personal records. Emmanuel placed sixth with a leap of 48-05.25, improving on his previous best mark of 47-00 by more than 10 inches, and Aaron finished ninth with distance of 47-08.50, over a foot further than his previous best leap of 46-05.25.
 
The Demons also had three runners set or tie personal bests in the 200m. Senior Kendal Taylor finished 14^th with a blistering time of 21.50, Hanoj Carter placed 21^st at 21.60 and Karllis Perry tied his personal record of 22.33, finishing 43^rd.
 
The Demons join the Lady Demon squad next weekend as both teams head to Baton Rouge for the LSU Twilight meet.
