Lady Demons look to continue momentum with Central Arkansas

NATCHITOCHES – Two days after shooting 62 percent from the field to knock off Oral Roberts, the Northwestern State women's basketball team will take on Central Arkansas on Saturday at 1 o'clock in Prather Coliseum in Southland Conference action. 
 
NSU (8-13, 4-7 SLC) had four players score in double-figures, and were led by Keisha Lee who had 19 and Jasmine Upchurch who scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Janelle Perez scored 17 and Jasmine Bradley had 11 points to beat the Golden Eagles 67-63.
 
UCA (13-9, 6-5 SLC) is coming in to the game with four loses in their last five games.  The Sugarbears most recently lost to Stephen F. Austin 53-45 on Thursday night.
 
Central Arkansas beat the Lady Demons 60-44 in Conway on Jan. 12, but since then they have lost five of seven. Sugarbears senior Megan Herbert was the leader in points and rounds with 22 and eight respectively.
 
Herbert is the team leader in scoring average (18.7) and rebound (11.4), and Courtney Duever is second on the team both categories with 13.7 points and 8.5 rebounds a game.
 
Jasmine Upchurch, who pushed her consecutive double-figure game streak to five, continues to lead the team in scoring with 12.6 points and rebounds with 6.6 a game. Janelle Perez (10.6) and Keisha Lee (10.3) also average in double-digits this season.
 
The Lady Demons will open a three-game road swing Thursday when they travel to Southeastern Louisiana.  They will return home on Feb. 23 when they play their last non-conference game of the season against the University of New Orleans.
