NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State women's basketball team returns home Thursday to face-off with Southland Conference newcomer Oral Roberts at 5:30 for the annual Chili Cook-off in Prather Coliseum.
It will be the second meeting between the two schools and will feature a Purple Out with theme tee shirts that can be purchased at Barnes and Noble on NSU's campus. Oral Roberts (10-10, 7-3 SLC) won the first contest against the Lady Demon (7-13, 3-7 SLC) 66-55 in Tulsa, Okla. on Jan. 10.
“The thing with Oral Roberts is that they can shoot. They have four players on the floor at all times that can score the basketball,” said co-head coach
Brooke Stoehr. “They're very efficient in their offense, love to get up-and-down the floor, and attack offensively.”
The Golden Eagles leading scorer, Kevi Luper, scored 16 points against the Lady Demons in the first game. She averages 17.8 points a contest, which ranks third in the conference.
